Suspended Or Revoked License
New Jersey Attorney: Suspended or Revoked License in NJ
A license suspension occurs by either Court Order or administratively by the Motor Vehicle Administration. For instance, the Court must impose a mandatory license suspension upon a conviction or guilty plea to driving without liability insurance, leaving the scene of an accident, drunk driving, possession of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle while under age, alluding police and for most drug offenses. On an administrative basis, a license can be suspended when you accumulate too many motor vehicle points or upon your failure to appear in Court, pay a fine, comply with the terms of a sentence, pay Court Ordered child support or pay unpaid parking tickets.

If your license is suspended or revoked, it can have a significant impact on your life. Unlike other states, New Jersey does not provide any alternative means to lawfully operate a vehicle once your license has been suspended. There are no temporary or provisional licenses allowing you to travel to and from work, use your vehicle in the case of an emergency or to receive medical care, go to the grocery store or even see your children as part of a custody arrangement. Once your license has been suspended in New Jersey, you may not lawfully operate your vehicle at any time for any reason during the period of suspension.

The Municipal Court attorneys at Lenahan & Rockwell provide an aggressive defense for traffic offenses and disorderly persons offenses such as driving without liability insurance, leaving the scene of an accident, drunk driving and certain drug offenses that can result in a license suspension upon conviction.
